Instant Messengers are also suggested, but not required. Instant Messengers can be used to plan out angles, matches, or just chat to fellow handlers about KCW. I use yahoo messenger and go under the name truekingnate.
Do not harass your fellow handlers through e-mail or instant messaging system. Everyone's here to play a game and they don't need to be harassed. ß You will be kicked out of the fed if you keep this behavior up.
3. CREATING A WRESTLER:
ORIGINAL wrestlers only, I know many of you will create wrestlers that are "identical" to the real superstars of the WWE and wCw and more. That is OK. But TRY to have your own "ideas" as well.
Make sure you read all these rules before you create your wrestler. There will be some things that you will need to know to fill out the application page completely.
You must create a generic promo entrance and a generic match strategy. The reason for this isn't to see how well you can write. Instead, the information will be used in instances where you are placed in a surprise match and didn't have time to send in a match strategy.
The same thing goes with starting game moves. You must have a set of moves at all times, in case you need to wrestler. Even if you never plan on being in a Tag Team match, you must still pick five Tag Team moves from the Tag Team list.
Do not pick anything for the Special Match gamed move. You will only be required to pick one from that list when you are involved in one of the many special matches.
Dont worry your gamed moves will change over time, because I know you will want to be the best.
You can also change your Generic promo entrance and Generic match strategies anytime you want. Just send it in by email and title it as the Generic type.
Only one trademark and finishing move/hold, please. Any more will be ignored.
Wrestler Type. You must choose one of the following to determine your wrestler type. You also must fit the Height/Weight requirements.
Powerhouse: Normal height, weight between 240-399 lbs. Usually powerful, muscle bound type wrestlers. They can hold their own against just about anyone and can ground just about any High Flyer. They tend to be in great shape, but bulky and not particularly fast, and may come from a football or body-building background. Powerhouses are strong against High Flyers and Martial Artist and weak against Brawlers, Technicians, and Super Heavyweights.
High Flyer: Any height, weight below 240lbs. Also known as Lightweights or Cruiserweights. Known for their moves off the top rope or from the ring to the floor. They tend to be extremely spectacular, but small and subject to quick pins. High Flyers are strong against Brawlers and Martial Artist and weak against Powerhouses, Technicians, and Super Heavyweights.
Brawler: Any height, any weight. Brawlers beat up people with fists, feet, head, and whatever else is at hand. Nothing fancy here, just pure, brutal, unpredictable efficiency. Brawlers are strong against Powerhouses, Technicians, and Martial Artist and weak against High Flyers and Super Heavyweights.
Technician: Normal height, weight below 350lbs. These wrestlers love submission moves and holds that incapacitate or cripple an opponent. They study wrestling holds and counter-holds; their approach to wrestling is almost scientific. Many of them have amateur wrestling backgrounds and are legitimate tough guys. Technicians are strong against Powerhouses, and High Flyers and weak against Brawlers and Super Heavyweights.
Super Heavyweights: EITHER: Normal height, with weight above 400lbs. OR: Height greater than 7 foot. These monsters are powerful yet most are VERY slow. They are able to put a hurting on just about everyone. They are big, strong guys who like to toss people around for a living and rely on their sheer size to dominate opponents. Super Heavyweights are strong against Powerhouses, High Flyers, Brawlers, Technicians, and Martial Artist and weak against none. *note* Super Heavyweights choose one LESS move from the list of moves.
Martial Artist: Any height, any weight. Martial Artist have crossed over to wrestling from one of the various other forms of combat, whether boxing, ultimate fighting or the martial arts. Martial Artist fight in a disciplined, structured fashion. Martial Artist are strong against none and weak against Powerhouses, High Flyers, Brawlers, Technicians and Super Heavyweights. *note* Martial Artist choose one ADDITIONAL move from the list of moves, but the move must come from the Martial Artists move list.
Unorthodox: Any height, any weight. Unorthodox wrestlers are unpredictable, and their moves are unique. They vary their style constantly to keep their opponents dazzled. Unorthodox are strong and weak against random opponents at each card. *note* Unorthodox wrestlers randomly receives points or loses points to opponents after every card. The number of points can vary anywhere between 0 to 50. For example: Unorthodox Joe wrestles Brawler Bob on three separate occasions. Their first meeting Joe has a 20 point advantage over Bob. Their second meeting has neither wrestler with the advantage, both being at 0. But on the third match, Bob has a 50 point advantage!
Well Rounded: Any height, any weight. Well Rounded wrestlers have prepared themselves for just about anything. They do have their strengths and weaknesses as well though. *note* Well Rounded characters when first created must put a 15 point advantage against one type of wrestler of their choice. These points can be the Well Rounded wrestler type. Also Well Rounded wrestlers do not receive the bonus points for picking over half their moves from their own move list, because Well Rounded wresters do not have a move list of their own.
Tag-Team Specialists: Any height, any weight. Tag-Team Specialists do everything in unison and are particularly adept at coordination, whether to double-team an opponent or to keep the referee away from a partner. They tend to be lost when wrestling on their own though. Tag Team Specialist may choose another wrestler type as their secondary type. For example, a Tag Team Specialist may also pick Powerhouse as his secondary wrestler type. Tag Team Specialist gains all the advantages and disadvantages of their secondary wrestler type, but with the following exception. Tag Team Specialist gains 15 points if they are in a match with a partner. The 15 points are combined for every Tag Team Specialist partner on the team. For example if there is a six man tag team match with two Tag Team Specialist and a High Flyer on the same team, they would get a total 30 bonus points for their team. The Tag Team Specialist also loses 30 points in any type of match that requires him/her to rely on their selves. For example, The Tag Team Specialist is scheduled to be in a one on one match, during the match he would have a 30 penalty before the match even started.
Garbage Wrestler: Any height, any weight. Garbage Wrestlers are incredibly tough (or insane) athletes who would do anything to win a match and seem to show a perverse affection for pain. Most of them will cheat all the time. They take unbelievable risks in and out of the ring and win matches by outlasting exhausted opponents. These type of wrestlers are usually found in the Hardcore division, but not uncommon in other divisions as well. Its very rare to see the Garbage Wrestler with the Wrestling or Tag Team titles since they always seem to get their selves DQd before they win the match. Garbage Wrestlers may choose another wrestler type as their secondary type. For example, a Garbage Wrestler may also pick Brawler as his secondary wrestler type. The Garbage wrestler gains all the advantages and disadvantages of their secondary wrestler type, but with the following exception. The opponents for a Garbage Wrestler, loses 15 points before the match even begins. On the other hand, if the Garbage Wrestler is involved in any match that has count outs or DQs, his/her chances of getting DQd or counted out increases.
4. NON-INTERACTIVE WRESTLERS
All wrestlers are considered Active wrestlers unless you state that you want to be a Non-interactive wrestler.
Non-interactive Wrestlers. If you want to create a wrestler and see how well he does on his own without any additional input from you, you can! Before you do this though, you must know that you can only have one active wrestler and one Non-interactive wrestler.
To create a Non-interactive Wrestler you MUST fill out the application form completely. The only information that will be used for your Non-interactive wrestler, will come from this application. His Gamed move list will never change and his in ring Strat will never change. You will not write Promo for the Non-interactive wrestler and the only Strat that he uses is the one from his application, so make it a good one. The only thing that you have to do to keep your Non-interactive wrestler active is to negotiate his contract every time that his contract is about to expire.
You can use your Non-interactive wrestling in promo with your active wrestler, but he will ALWAYS take a backseat to your active wrestler. I will punish those who try to abuse this rule.
You can make your Non-interactive wrestler into an active wrestler, but your active wrestler then becomes a Non-interactive wrestler. The only time you can do this is during contract signings.
You are only allowed one active wrestler and one non-interactive wrestler. Violators will be suspended until Mr. Martindale can resolve the situation and feels a lesson was learned.
Some possible uses for the Non-interactive wrestler could include the following:
The most obvious would be as a tag team partner. This is a good way to create tag teams without the fear of your partner turning on you.
You could also have your Non-interactive wrestler be used as your manager. He manages your wrestler, but will occasionally jump in the ring and fight wrestlers on behalf of your active wrestler.
The Non-interactive wrestler can also be a lackey/bodyguard/parent. Can anyone say Ralphus?
Or the Non-interactive wrestler can just be another wrestler with no ties to your wrestler. Whatever you wish.
5. GAME PLAY RULES, ALL ABOUT THE STRAT EMAIL PAGE:
Once per week, a new card will be posted for the next Saturday Night Chaos television show. The card is usually posted on the previous Saturday Night.
Every handler of a wrestler has until Wednesday at midnight to send in the Strat email page. Anything received after that time may or may not be used. It'll be at the discretion of the staff.
The only thing required on the Strat email page is a set of Gamed moves that you wish to use on the upcoming card. Everything else on the page is optional. You must send in this page even if you are not scheduled to wrestle in the upcoming card. (Sometimes there are surprise matches.) And even if you dont want to change you Gamed moves for this week, you must send it in anyway. I also require the Strat email page so I can find out who is still active in KCW.
To determine the winners and losers of the wrestling matches, KCW has its very own point system that uses the Gamed moves to figure out the points. The point system is talked about in more detail later in the rules.
Those that fail to send in the Strat email page will get punished by losing half there points in their next match, whenever it happens. If this happens two weeks in a row, then for every week that the Strat email page isnt sent in, an additional 20 points will be taken off the remaining points. If the points reach a negative number, then Mr. Martindale has the right to suspend the wrestler from KCW for failure to uphold contractual obligations.
Suspended wrestlers will only be allowed to return to the ring with Mr. Martindales permission. Which will be hard to get. You better have a good reason for not informing Mr. Martindale of you absents before hand.
Two Suspensions and you are fired from KCW, never to return.
If you do plan on missing a week or a few weeks, please email Mr. Martindale and inform him of such, that way you wont be punished for inactivity.
6. PROMOS:
Cutting a promo during the card is pretty easy. It isnt required, but it helps to get your wrestler known and also helps get him some title shots. On the Strat email page, there is a section that allows you to write your promo/interview/backstage skit/or video skit. Just fill it out as if you were watching it on television. So I can cut and paste it. That will save me a lot of time and Ill love you for it.
After you have written your promo, choose a time slot in which you wish for it to be aired. Choose a couple of extra time slot, just in case you dont get your first choice.
You may also wish to interfere in a match or attack a wrestler after his match. Add these things to the Strat email page when you send it in. Lets make each Saturday Chaos card interesting to read.
If you want to do a promo with another wrestler, contact the handler of that wrestler via email or instant messenger and work out a little skit together. All wrestlers involved with the said skit must send in the SAME skit on their OWN Strat email pages. That way I know that youve worked together on the skit.
Also, just because you send in a promo or strategy doesnt mean it will get used. The Presidents goal is to create a card that flows well, and so if there are three-people that want to do a promo right after the main event...chances are only the best is going to get the spot. I will do my best though to get everyones promos on the show. Which is why I ask for your top three time slot positions you want.
I also have the right to change anything in your promo before I put in on my show, if I put it in my show at all. Some things that I will change or delete are any racial slurs, extreme cuss words, or anything that I consider to be bad taste. I will also change the names of reporters or interviewers if you use others besides the ones that I have presented you in the staff page. The reason for this is because I want an atmosphere that has a feeling of reality, a place where everyone is in contact with the same people.
7. UNDERSTANDING HOW THE POINT SYSTEM WORKS:
Here is the most basic explanation for the point system. You take the total points of all your gamed moves and add them up. The wrestler with the higher points wins.
It does get a little more complicated when you figure out the bonus points given due to the type of wrestler you are and the type of wrestlers you are facing.
The type of match that your wrestler is involved in also determines how the points are added up. The point system for the type of matches is listed under match types.
On the card results for the Saturday Night Chaos, there will be a set of numbers that look like this: (15, 21, 44, 245) The first number (15) is the total bonus points that you used during the match. The second number (21) is the points received from your trademark move. The third number (44) is your points received from your finishing move, and the fourth number (245) is the total points, that include all bonus and finishing move points. This is the number that tells you if you won or lost the match. Your opponents numbers will be by his name as well, so that you may compare.
Unlike the other wrestlers in KCW the Non-interactive Wrestlers total points will never be revealed. If you are involved in a match with a Non-interactive wrestler and lose, just know that his points are higher than yours. By the way all active wrestlers points will be shown, even if they are wrestling Non-interactive Wrestlers.
After seeing how well (or badly) youve done, you might want to change out a few of your Gamed moves for the matches next week. You continue to change your points week after week until you get a set of moves you want for the monthly Supercard.
The points stay the same until AFTER the Supercard. The first card after the Supercard will use a new set of points that you will have to choose from all over again. This allows you to test out different move sets until you get the one you want for the Supercard. The Supercard is where you will pull out all the stops and where you should finally have the best set of numbers for your match.
Finishing Move/Holds and Trademark Move/Holds are unique that they are determined at random for each match. Trademark Move/Holds can range between 1-30 points. While Finishing Move/Holds can range between 31-60 points.
There is also the following things that could appear in your move list choices: DQ, (DQ), CO, (CO), (number), Random, and negative points.
DQ: is a Disqualification. There are 20 DQs possible.
(DQ): is a possible Disqualification. You will get disqualified if you are a garbage wrestler, if the referee is heel and you are a face, or any other similar situation. There are 30 possible DQs possible.
CO: is a count out. There are 5 count outs possible.
(CO): is a possible count out. See (DQ) above. There are 10 possible count outs possible.
(number): this is the possible number that you will get if the match you are in has no DQs or count outs or if the referee refuses to ring the bell or any other similar situation. There are 25 possible number points possible.
Random: There is one move on the list that can be any point between -50 and + 50 points.
Negative points: there are moves that will take points away from you during the match. There are only 8 negative moves in the game.
Count outs and DQs happen to the wrestler that has the move. If two wrestlers have a DQ, then the wrestler who has the DQ first on their list is the wrestler that gets disqualified. If both wrestlers have DQ/CO in the same spot then it becomes a double DQ or a double count out. If there is a DQ and a CO in the same place, the DQ overrides the CO.
Point System:
One 100 point move
One 50 point move
Five 10 point moves
Two 15 point moves
One random point move between -50 to +50 points
Five groups of moves between the numbers 0-50
The Special Moves list of numbers are numbered using a special system. Each number is given a two digit place. In the first digit, a number between 0-4 is placed and in the second digit a number between 0-9 is placed in it. Which gives each number the possibility of numbers between 00-49.
5 countouts
10 possible countouts
20 DQs
30 possible DQs
How to earn extra bonus points!
Writing a complete match for the house show. You vs. one of the KCW jobbers. This will earn you 20 bonus points per card. You can send in the match anytime throughout the week, or you can send it in with your Strat email page. A list of jobbers are on the staff page.
Writing a short commercial for KCW Saturday Night Chaos will earn you 5 bonus points per card. Send this in with your Strat email page. You cannot earn more than 5 bonus points per card in this way.
Writing a short Fictional Internet News story/rumor/charity event about your wrestler. DO NOT write a in character News story. You earn 5 bonus points for the story. These points combine with writing a short commercial. You cannot earn more than 5 bonus points per card in this way.
If you choose over half your moves from your wrestlers move list. For example, if a brawler chose at least 6 moves from the brawler move list, then that wrestler can get a 15 point bonus for staying within his character.
If you choose over half your moves from your wrestlers move list and then choose the remaining moves from the General move list, that wrestler will get 20 bonus points.
If you choose all your moves from your wrestlers move list, your wrestler will get a 25 point bonus.
Filling out the questionnaire (10Q) on the Strat email form. You dont get points for filling out the questionnaire, but if you fill it out, you will gain one bonus point for each time your wrestler was voted for by your peers. The more people in KCW the more points you could get. If you dont fill out the questionnaire then you wont receive the bonus points from the other wrestlers.
Negotiate for more points. You can earn permanent bonus points if you negotiate them into your new contract.
Tag Team members with the exact same tag team move on the exact same space number gains 5 points, for the team, for each exact same move name. The total is 25 extra points, for the team, if all the moves are the same.
8. I HATE THE POINT SYSTEM!
So you dont want to use the KCW point system, well there are a few different ways that you can get around the point system and not have to worry about it.
Rewrite matches: Rewrite matches are matches that you, the handler, write up yourself. All the handlers with wrestlers involved in the match will also write the match as they think it will happen. You turn in your suggested Rewrite matches in with your Strat email page and the owner will read each one. He will then make a judgment call and picks the match that he feels does the better job of storytelling.
Some wrestlers really enjoy Rewrite matches better than most other kinds of matches. If you are one of these people, you should take a look at going after the HaRdcOrE title.
Another way to get around the point system, but without having to write the matches yourself is what we call ANGLE matches. Although you can do Angle matches and write them yourself if you wish.
Angle matches have a predetermine outcome before the match even begins. Angle matches are usually part of a larger storyline that must know the winners of the matches in order to get the storyline over. For example; Two wrestlers want to do a best 5 out of 7 match, but they want to build up the matches to go into the seventh match to create more excitement. They can agree on who wins what matches and how in order to get the angle over.
All wrestlers that are involved with an Angle match must inform Mr. Martindale of the Angle. They must run the angle past Mr. Martindale and get his approval before they begin.
Angle matches will be noted as such on the card to prevent other wrestlers, who are not involved in the Angle matches, from interfere in the storyline.
For Angle and Rewrites, you must still send in a Strat email page with all the required areas filled out.
Special Guest Referee: For the most part, Special Guest Referees are used to help create a better storyline for the match. Special Guest Referees will only be used at the Supercard. Special Guest Referee includes Celebrities, Athletes from other sports, or Managers. There is another type of Special Guest Referee in KCW also.
So, You want to be the Special Guest Referee! Well, you can! There are some requirements that you must fulfill before you will be accepted as a Special Guest Referee.
----You must have been active for at least month and never been suspended (storyline suspensions dont count.)
----You must be considered a good promo or Rewrite match writer.
----You must have permission from all the handlers, who have wrestlers involved in the match.
----You must have Mr. Martindales approval.
After meeting these requirements, the following will happen. Mr. Martindale will email you the official results of the match on Thursday along with the Strats that the wrestlers sent to Mr. Martindale on Wednesday. For example; Jim will defeat Bob by pinfall or Jill gets DQd early in the match.
Now this is where the Special Guest Referee takes over. He knows what the wrestlers want to do, he knows how the outcome of the match SHOULD be, now he writes the match anyway he wants to. He uses the Strats and writes the outcome anyway he sees fit. He doesnt have to make Jim defeat Bob, and he doesnt have to let Jill get DQd.
The Special Guest Referee must send his match back into Mr. Martindale by Saturday morning. Failure to do so, will reflect very badly on you.
Special Guest Referees are a good change from the usual and they usually tend to create a lot of havoc. Which of course means, a lot of fun.
9. PROGRAMS:
The one thing that is missing in e-feds today are long term feuds. I have seen one to many feuds last only until the next card. With some e-feds who have two shows a week that could mean that one wrester has feuded and fought every other wrestler in the fed after about a month. E-feds also have the other end of the problem as well. Some handlers want to have long term feuds and they do their best to keep a feud going. The problem I usually see with this is, the feud never dies. These two wrestlers have fought each other at every card and have fought each other 30 times in the one month that they have had their feud.
KCW tries to solve this problem. As you might have noticed, the card for next weeks show is always posted the day of the last show. I post the card ONE WEEK before the card even happens. The reason for this is to allow the handlers time to prepare a good match. But that has nothing to do with a Program, that just shows that I preplan the matches. Just like I preplan the Programs.
On the main page is a list of wrestlers and which program they are in together. These are the wrestlers the will MOST LIKELY be wrestling each other at the Supercard at the end of the month. Thats right I will post the most likely matches that will happen at the supercard one month before it happens. The reason for this is to encourage long term feuds without having to wrestler each other at the very next card. You might be in a feud with Brawler Bob, but next Saturday Chaos, you are in a match with Micheal Collins. You should probably watch your back during that match though, because Brawler Bob, might just interfere in your match and cause you to lose, thus creating a better storyline.
The better storyline the two of you come up with during your Program, the better the chances are that you will be put into a main event status and be going for the championship titles. So its always good to find someone that you work well against.
The reason why the Program is to be MOST LIKELY to take place at the Supercard is for a number of reasons. Someone might quit KCW before the Supercard, the storylines taking place during the month has twisted somehow and now the Supercard has to be changed. Or any number of things could happen. Dont rely on the Program to BE the Supercard, just expect the Program to most likely be the supercard and the main wrestler you are feuding against.
Programs dont have to end after the Supercard, some Programs can last two or three Supercards. That all depends on the wrestlers involved and how good their storyline is going.
At first you will be placed in a Program by the owner of KCW, this is to see how well you do. After that you can put in a request on who you would like to be in a program with. To do this all you have to do is email the owner at kcw_ceo@hotmail.com. If the wrestler that you want to have a Program with isnt already tied up in another Program then chances are you will be granted your request. When two wrestlers ask to be in a Program together, thats when I get excited, because if the two of you want to do a Program together, then chances are the storyline is going to be good.
10. WRESTLERS WITHOUT PROGRAMS:
You may also noticed that there are a list of wrestlers that do not have a Program. The reason for this is because I dont have any plans for these wrestlers. This does not mean that you will not make it to the Supercard, but chance are good that you wont be there. If you find yourself without a Program, there are a couple of things you can do.
One, you can request to be involved in a Program with another wrestler. Choosing another wrestler that is without a Program can almost guarantee that you will be involved in a Program. You can also try to get involved in a Program already in progress, but this is hard to do, you might just end up with a match against that wrestler on Saturday Chaos while that wrestler is preparing himself for the Program that he is already involved in. Another thing that you can do, is write good promos. By writing a good promo, you will grab the attention of the other handlers and they will want to have Programs with you. In this case, you might not ever find yourself without a Program ever again.
11. CONTRACTS AND NEGOTIATIONS:
The first time you sign up with KCW you are automatically given a one month contract with KCW. You can not negotiate this contract.
Signing a contract is the same as promising that you will participate in the KCW. You are giving your word that you will play the game out till the period of time that is left on your contract.
Breaking your contract is very bad. Failure to uphold your end of the contract could mean Mr. Martindale might not ever allow you to be a part of KCW or any future project created by Mr. Martindale.
If your contract expires while you are suspended (not including storyline suspensions) then you WILL be put on the blacklist and NEVER join again.
Negotiations can happen at anytime, but they will usually happen a week prior to your current contracts expiration date.
Most contract negotiations will be done via email, but if I catch you on an instant messenger, I might negotiate a contract with you there.
You are probably wondering what you get out of these contract negotiations. You get real money! (Just kidding) You get Imaginary money! (Just kidding again) I have seen contract systems that use imaginary money and nobody really cared anything about it at all. I have yet to see a contract system that uses real money. If you find one, let me know, I want to join. Anyway, back to the subject at hand. You can get just about anything you want out of these contract negotiations. (within reason, I am not sending anyone real money) I want people to be creative when coming up with things they want during these contract negotiations. Here is a small list of things that could help spark some ideas on what you want.
**Permanent bonus points for every match you participate in.
**As long as you are in the ring, the match is a No-disqualification match.
**You get to know the point value of the piledriver every cycle.
**You get at least one title match per month.
**You have a creative control clause in your contract that allows you to decide the outcome of one match.
These are just some ideas that I came up with on the top of my head. I am looking forward to seeing some of the ideas that you guys try to negotiate into your contract.
The more you ask for, the longer I am going to ask you to promise that you play. I am also very stingy when it comes to negotiations. I want you to stay, but I am not going to give you the world. I dont want everyone else getting mad because you got a better deal then they did and I dont want wrestlers with awesome benefits that make them unbeatable. So I will try to prevent contract abuse.
The contract system can be abused, but since I created it and I am the one that will be doing the negotiations, I wont let it get abused.
Wrestlers who are under contract may also be booked into any match that the federation president deems necessary. Signing a contract also gives me every right to handle wrestlers in your unscheduled absence. For example, if you have a title and are on your way to becoming suspended because you are almost at negative points, I can book your wrestler into a match and use him any way I see fit. I can even cut a promo for him if I wanted to.
12. THE SIMPLE RULE:
I know there seems to be a lot of rules here, but if you want to know the simplest way to play KCW, all you have to do is send in the Strat email page once per week and read the results every Saturday. Its really that simple.
13. THE MOST IMPORTANT RULE:
The most important rule out of all the rules is to have fun. This is a game and nothing should be taken serious. Just have fun.
